The evaluation of the pilot Pais Bilon Lukautim Pikinini Gut program (Parenting for Child Development) has demonstrated high levels of community involvement in the program, with impressive parental attendance and positive feedback about what they have learned. There are promising indications of improved parenting and family wellbeing, with reductions in child maltreatment including reductions in use of corporal punishment and verbal abuse. Parents report significant reductions in family violence.
